Playing with Fliiip Book
I learned about Fliiip Book on the internet recently and it’s pretty cool. It’s “a simple gif animation app for the web” and does what it says on the tin!
It’s free, and has features like:
- Onion skinning
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Brush options
- Keyframe timeline navigation
I haven’t really played with an animation tool properly before. This was great because it’s small and approachable, while also clear on how much it can do. I used to love taking physical notepads and making little flip books with them growing up, and so this made me feel nostalgic while also learning a bunch. Great combo, if you ask me.
Here’s a little gif I made in a few minutes!

The creator, Jonathan, has some other cool projects on his website like Drawww Time and Paint List. I love seeing tiny powerful tools.
Credit to Stef Walter for sharing this one!
See ya next time.
