I really love entering raffles
Welcome to Blogvent (where I blog daily in December), day 23!
I love raffles. Gimme a chance to win something for minimal effort, and I’m THERE. I’ll almost always fill out a survey, almost always drop an email, almost always enter a low-effort contest, almost always provide feedback in exchange for a chance to win.
I know it’s probably a dumb thing to do “data privacy”-wise or something, or even just from a time management perspective… but I just love entering raffles.
I think it started when I was in middle school and I actually won a raffle for the first time, and the prize was an iPod Nano. That baby could hold 500 songs!! Spotify who?? I OWNED my music. And I OWNED the moment where I, shockingly, won something.
Now, obviously, I don’t win often, because… it’s rare to ever win a raffle, ever. BUT, when you enter a lot of raffles? You win sometimes!! Those little winnings are FUN!
I haven’t won a ton of raffles in my life, and a grand majority of the winnings are like $5 Amazon gift cards or t-shirts or something. But, over the years, I’ve gotten a few good prizes, including my first Mac desktop in college, my husband’s iPad Mini, and a printer!
…yes, I can afford to buy most of these things and could probably work on something valuable and earn enough money to buy these things instead. But they’re free!!! And fun!!! I don’t care!!!!! LET ME LIVE!!!!!!!!!
(this last bit is mostly a message to my relatives who have told me I should stop entering raffles)
