Podcasts I'm listening to in 2025

It’s Blogvent, day 12, where I blog daily in December!

I admit I’m not a huge podcast person. No, scratch that: I love listening to podcasts but I never have time to, and when I finally do, I think, “wow, I should be more of a podcast person,” and then I stop listening for weeks, and then binge many episodes over an extremely short period of time.

Plus I have kids at home who have no interest in me listening to other people talk besides them.

So, because I know myself and my habits, I have an intentionally short list of podcasts that I try to keep up with and like!

  • Good Hang with Amy Poehler: I think this is a wildly popular one now for a reason, it’s very fun and I just love how it’s chill and mostly comedians hanging out.
  • Overcommitted: Put simply, thoughtful tech conversations from thoughtful tech people. I’m biased towards this one because it’s run by some coworkers, but they are awesome coworkers and it’s fun and interesting!
  • CodePen Radio: This one was gone for YEARS and then they came back and I am so happy they did.
  • GitHub Podcast: Another biased one because it’s my place of work, BUT it’s still good! I’m on some episodes and I purposely do not listen to those as a result but I keep up with the show anyway because I love the open source conversations.
  • VeggieTales Podcast: Okay this is more for my children than me, but it’s a good one for talking about how it’s important to be “nice” and stuff (what a concept), and it’s been great on roadtrips to visit family!

…annnd that’s it. I have listened to one (1) episode of ShopTalk and The Stack Overflow Podcast each this year too, as honorable mentions!
