Time containers
I am jobless, and yet I am so, so busy. How the heck does that happen?
I think it has something to do with that concept of “a liquid fills its container” or whatever the exact wording is. All of the contract work, podcasts, videos, side projects, and other things I have been putting off are finally being done because I have the time to do it, and I’m filling that time.
I was talking about it with Saron Yitbarek the other day (DiscoLink Club) and we both were saying that we have become so dang efficient since becoming parents. We have much more limited time, so we know that we have to just do the thing and not procrastinate whenever we have a free minute. I think the combo of not procrastinating and my newfound hardcore efficiency have made for a really “high output” time, which is cool, but I genuinely can’t tell how sustainable it is.
All this being said… I do have a new job coming (at GitHub, next week, yay), but all I can think is… how will I have time for it?? Time to establish a new “time container” for myself, yet again.
