Things I would study more if I had time
It’s Blogvent, day 17, where I blog daily in December!
These are a bunch of things I would genuinely love to study more deeply. Someday if I ever make it big, you’ll see me studying these.
- Anna Ancher’s art
- Irish history in general, particularly around the conflict of the 90s
- The history of how Mexico City came to be
- The origins of Portuguese as a language
- Carol Burnett’s impact on comedy
- “At the Dressing Table” by Zinaida Serebriakova, the painting origin story, and her career following
- The process of book publishing over time, how it evolved
- About the life of Louisa May Alcott
- The history of the stops along the way of El Camino de Santiago
- The evolution of different world religions over time
- How language developed and morphed in colonized Asian countries
- How olive oil influenced trade over time
These are all things that I could definitely just search online, and I have! But when I say I want to “study” these topics, I mean a full curriculum with readings and an expert or two I can speak with about them. I want a syllabus!!
These are just topics off the top of my head (there’s definitely more), but these sorts of things that have nothing to do with tech or scientific subjects are so interesting to me. There’s a lot to learn in this world from history and art and culture, and though I have bits and pieces, I really do hope I can dive into these things (and beyond) someday.
